Leasing laws were revised in 2011 with the CLA ( Consumer Leasing Act). This became a direct relation to the Truth in Lending Act... As it was also revised. The CLA was better described and dollar amounts were increased to meet the changing economy and inflation. The CLA pertains to consumers that lease machinery under $50,000. This machinery might be an automobile or laser machine. This is a lot of technical reading... It is best to do proper research on the web at the government web sites... I found the full text of the law by search google with "Truth in Lending Act Lease"... Please take the time to research and understand the process and documentation involved with leases.

Don't let a slick agent confuse you between lease rate and Annual percentage rate. Ask for a complete description of the payment structure, fees, fines, and schedule.
