i am strugling to get the 1290 to read any usb memory stick i have followed the instructions to the letter, formatint to fat 2gig and smaller but still no joy. is there any other way or a firmware update manbe..... it just stays on reading flash drive thats all....

I know that reading a USB drive can be a bit of a headache for the motion controllers. Your best bet is to get a small USB flash drive.... Say 128MB, 512MB, or 1GB. Format to Fat16. ... Keep moving from there. I have used some flash drives that would never read data... And other larger drives that worked fine.
