I've got a chiller, how often do I need to change the coolant?

Quick Answer:

Check it every six months and change the coolant if dirty.

Complete Answer:

Using clean water, it should be checked every six months. Look to see if it is cloudy or low, if so, drain the chiller and replace with de-ionized water. Do not use any antifreeze. The RV can grow mold and destroy the laser tube. The automotive antifreeze can become electrolytic. This conducts the electricity and causes a path for the high voltage to divert away from the laser tube. If you are using these fluids now, replace with pure water as soon as possible. Flush thoroughly and replace again.
